About Academy

• The Step-UP Academy is designed to accelerate students' acquisition of the reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension of upcoming standards-based lessons.
• The Step-UP Academy's focus is on accelerating students with grade-level content rather than remediating them. Through this approach students become more successful on lessons next week, next semester, and next year.
• The Step-UP Academy can take place after school, during intersession, Saturday school, or intensive summer institutes.
• The Step-UP Academy provides opportunities for teachers to practice Explicit Direct Instruction^® lesson delivery with integrated English Learner strategies. Includes continuous classroom coaching to support teachers in honing their skills using English Learner strategies.
